Department of History launched in 1993-1994 academic year with 30 students. First ever graduates left the department at the end of the 1996-1997 academic year. Each year 70 new students join the department. Students from the Department of History, of which education period is four years, graduate with the title of "Historian" and obtain a bachelor's degree of History.

Students who graduated from our departmen find the opportunity to work as an expert and translator with the title of Historian in public institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, the General Directorate of State Archives, the Parliamentary Library, the State Institute of Statistics, the General Staff, the Head of Military History and Strategic Studies, the Presidency of the Turkish Historical Society, the Head of Atatürk Research Center, the Head of the Atatürk Cultural Center.

Students can also work as a Research Assistant, Specialist and Lecturer in addition to doing Master's and Doctorate at Universities. In addition to the courses in the history undergraduate program, students who take educational formation courses work as "Social Studies and History Teachers" in private schools, as well as in Primary Schools and High Schools under the Ministry of National Education.
